Random!

• I have been sick with a cold for the past week and I don't feel good at all!

• Working at night is definitely not fun, 6:00pm to 10:00pm is not my favorite work schedule! 

• I got a wonderful gift for my birthday: my boyfriend and I are going for one week in Dominican Republic next March! Can't wait! What a great gift!

Birthday gift!

• I want to buy an elliptical (under $500 if possible!) that will not break after using it for 6 months! Any recommendation? We had a ProForm stationary bike but it broke after a few months so I don't trust that brand anymore!

• I really need to get back on a workout routine because I don't feel good! I don,t want to join a gym here because it's kind of expensive! This is the reason I want to buy an elliptical!

• Our apartment is a mess and I don't feel like cleaning! It's not like me!!!

• I have 2 To-Do lists but I feel really lazy today!

Happy November!

• Can you believe it's already November?!?! Almost the year 2013!!!!

• This is my birthday month (my birthday is on the 3rd, in 2 days!) but I'm not excited at all to turn 28! I'm getting old ha! It seems like yesterday I was 21!!!

• I like my teaching job... but I don't like the schedule at all. I mainly work at night (night classes) and it's so exhausting. I go to bed around 11:00-11:15 pm and I'm not used to that. I have to do a lot of classes preparation and sometimes, only 1 or 2 students show up for the class. Annoying. Honestly, I don't have a very good salary either (and it's not full-time) and it kind of bothers me. Well, I had to take that job because I need to work and to pay the bills like everybody! I know that my job situation could be worse! At least I have a job!

• Because yesterday was Halloween, I only had one student coming to my class! I thought nobody was going to show, I guess I was wrong!

• The weather has been crazy this week out here because of the storm Sandy. It's kind of depressing!

• I have not done a workout in a few weeks. I need to get back on a workout routine! I'm thinking about joining a gym but it's so expensive here!

• This month is the month I start paying back my student loan. Yikes.

5. I love Québec city and I'm sad that we are not living there anymore. I lived there 6.5 years and it really felt like home. I want to move back there. 

6. I think I spend more money on my hair than I do on clothes. 

7. I hate math. I took Advanced Math in High School and I was so bad. I had to work so hard and I got C- senior year. 

8. I love fruit so much, I eat apples and pears all the time.

9. I'm sometimes jealous of other people.

10. I think I watch too much television!

Life Lately and Menu Monday!

I have not written in a while on my blog, I didn't feel like blogging at all.

In the past 3.5 weeks, I have done a lot and a lot of things have happened, like those things:

• I am officially done with my Masters. I'm getting my diploma on graduation in Québec city on June 16th! I can't wait!

• I met my niece for the first time, she was born on March 30th. She is so precious!

• I have done more than 300 km of bike.

• I have done the 30 Day Shred!

• I lost 5 pounds.

• I have organized old pictures (more than 2000!) and it was really fun to go through more than 2 decades of pictures!

• I read 6 books, just for fun! 

• I began to write a novel! Not sure how it will turn out but I'm trying to write! 

Also, I'm leaving for Montréal in a few days to work for 6 weeks, as I do every year. I will stay at my sister's apartment and I can walk to work, I love it! I can't wait to be in Montréal, I love that city! I will miss Boyfriend of course, but I need to work!

Friday Confessions

• I confess that I would love to live somewhere else than the province of Quebec, temporally or permanently, I don't know! When I was young, my family moved to New Brunswick for 1 year, so I can say that I have lived in NB and Quebec! So I have been to New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, but never been to Western Canada. I would like to move to another Canadian province, like Ontario maybe, I really love Toronto! But Boyfriend hates Toronto! Boyfriend loves British Colombia, he has lived in Vancouver for a few months several years ago and he enjoyed it so much (warmer weather!)!

• I confess that I have a lot of stress going on in my life right now and I'm not sure how to deal with that.

• I confess that I have not worked out a lot in the past few days because our stationary bike was broken! But it is now repaired, so I can go back to my normal routine!

• I confess that I want to buy new books! I love books! And since I'm on a limited budget, I cannot! (Insert sad face here!)

• I confess that the house market here is insane! The prices of houses are so high and are totally unaffordable for us! I'm talking about $200,000 for an old mobile home! Or $360,000 for a 1970 bungalow that needs a lot of updates!

• I confess that I need to get a lot done today!

• Read my thesis for the last time before printing it!
• Email my thesis director some papers she has to sign
• Email my University faculty
• Print final version of thesis (3 copies)!
• Go to the post office and mail out my thesis!
• Apply online for a job
• Look for full-time jobs offers
• Make dinner

2. I can eat anything made of/with chocolate!

3. I have a super bad accent when I speak English! I have some pronunciation problem with the r and th, like door, mirror, through, breath, thigh, heart, etc. 

4. I consider myself smart, I learn new things easily and I memorize a lot of things. 

5. I LOVE books!  

6. I don't consider myself like a social person but I do get well along with people. 

7. I love TO-DO lists!

Miscellany Monday

• My niece Laurence was born last Friday, March 30th 2012, at 3:45 pm. 51 cm, 7.5 pounds, lots of hair! She is so precious! Can't wait to see her this weekend when we go to Montréal! Can't believe my brother is now a daddy! Weird!

• This weekend, we ate a fabulous dessert! Homemade Crème brûlée! It was HEAVEN!

• My thesis has finally been approved by my University! It took longer than expected! I got the mention very good. I have a few corrections to do and I'm good!!!

• I'm going to Montréal this weekend for Easter and I can't wait to do some serious shopping! I need it!!!

Random Thursday!

• I finally booked an appointment to get my hair done! This afternoon, I'm going to get beautified! Hair cut and highlights! I have not been to the hairdresser in more than 3 months (13 weeks exactly!), you bet that my roots are totally showing! 

• My boyfriend is turning the big 30 next Wednesday! And I'm throwing him a surprise party next Saturday! (Don't worry, he doesn't read my blog! I bet he even doesn't remember I told him I had a blog!)

• I have sent out 4 resumes this week! Please someone call me!

• My life is boring. Well, this is what I think.

• I don't have any plans for the weekend. Probably the usual: cleaning and grocery shopping. I told you my life was boring.

• I want to travel. I'm jealous of friends that are going to trips like 4-5 times/year. And I'm talking about big trips, like Europe, South America, etc. The last time I want outside the country was almost 3 years ago when we went for a weekend in New York City. We did go to Ottawa (in Ontario) 2 years ago but I want to get out of the country! I need a real vacation.

Life Lately

• I got some great news this week. I am going to be a columnist for a French-Canadian website! I will be writing about girly topics, like makeup, shopping, chick lit, anecdotes, etc. I'm very excited! My first article will be online next week (in French, of course!). The editor told me that she really loves my writing! Of course, this job is only part time but it will look great on my resume! And writing is something I love to do!

• I have applied to 3 jobs this week and I hope to have at least one call!

• My parents are going to Montréal next week for a few days and I'm thinking about going with them! I'm still undecided. I miss big cities!

• Weight loss is going well. Remember, I'm doing The 10 Pound Challenge! I have lost 5 pounds so far! I'm tracking calories with myfitnesspal and I love it!

• It is Friday and I am so happy to have some time with my boyfriend this weekend! We don't have much planned (grocery shopping, coffee date, movie) but I'm looking forward to that!

Thursday Randoms

• There was a big fire yesterday in an apartments complex near my house! 12 families are without a home right now, that's so sad!  An aid campaign is organized for the families and I plan on giving them old clothes that I don't want anymore!

• I am sick, I have a cold and I'm not feeling very well!

• In the last week, I have not used my flat iron once! I try to avoid heat on my hair for a couple days! Instead of flat ironing my hair, I braid it! And it looks very nice!

• I can't wait to meet my future niece! One more month! I can't believe my older brother is going to be a dad! Weird!

• I sent out 3 resumes this week. I hope to have a call!

• I made funfetti cupcakes for Valentine's Day and it was so yummy!!! Love me some cupcakes!!!

• It's snowing right now. And guess who's going to shovel? This girl!

• I confess that I feel really lazy right now.

• I confess that I have a big pimple on my forehead and it hurts so much!!!

• I confess that I'm thinking about pursing another degree (online University), in Communication or Public Relations maybe. But I'm not sure if I can afford it. Not true: I cannot afford it right now. And I don't want to get more student loans.

• I confess that last night, I woke up in the middle of the night and I thought someone was breaking into the house and I was ready to call 9-1-1. I was really scared!!! 

• I confess that no one wants to hire me. It seems like I don't know the right people. Or I don't have the right timing or the right experience. 

• I confess that I am really nostalgic. I wish I was still 17. Or maybe 5. 

• I confess that I'm going through a difficult phase in my life. I want to move back to Québec city and be really happy, as I used to be.

• January is flying by!!! Can you believe it is already the 24th?!?!

• I'm looking for new recipes. Ideas, anyone?

• I'm looking forward to the weekend because on Sunday, we are going for a long walk in snowshoes (in the woods)! It will be fun!

• Morroccanoil treatment does magic to my hair! I have been using it for 2 months and I'm so happy with my hair! It totally worths it!

• I didn't get a good workout in a long time.

• I love snacks. Way too much.

• I feel really tired right now, I need some caffeine!

• I made a new dessert last weekend and it turned out really well. Blueberry mousse with vanilla mascarpone in martini glasses! So good!

Thoughts on Tuesday!

• It's official: my boyfriend will pursue a MBA this semester! He got in! And he will also be working full-time at the same time! He got his bachelor degree in engineering almost 4 years ago, it's weird to think of him as a student again!

• The past few days were very very cold! 

• Gingerbread Spice Tea is my new favorite thing!

• Jillian Michaels is back in my life and she is kicking my butt!

• I can't help but judge some people sometimes. Sorry. 

• All I want to do today is to stay in bed and hide from the world. 

• I have received an unexpected amount of money yesterday and it totally made my day!

• My grandma is 87 and she knows all about Facebook and Twitter. I'm shocked.

• I got my hair done about 6 weeks ago and my roots are already horrible. My hair grows so fast! #whitegirlproblem

• It's only January and we have so much snow! I have shoveled for an hour this morning to get the car out of the parking! Take a look at our backyard:

Random Thursday

• I have not been writing a lot lately! I feel lazy, I guess, and I just want to read other people blogs!

• Yesterday, I had to go to the optometrist because I have an eye infection and it hurts so badly! But I got an antibiotic cream and it helps! So I won't be around a lot in the following days, my eye has to rest!

• Monday is going to be a BIG day for me, more on that later! Just send good vibes please!

• The boyfriend was in Montréal for work all week long and I miss him! He will be back soon and we will finally get our Christmas tree! It's about time!!!

• I was in Québec city last weekend and it was like the good old days! I miss living there!

• Yesterday, my mom bought me a sweater and socks and it totally made my day!

• It's snowing right now and I have to shovel!
