DIY Project: IKEA Drawer Chest Makeover

I have never showed you the DIY project I did a couple months ago for our upstairs living room!

I had an old white drawer chest (bought at IKEA like 20 years ago!) from my childhood bedroom and I had the great idea to give a second life to it! 

I put a black/white damask wallpaper on each drawer (3) and I had to be really careful because of the damask pattern, I wanted it to be perfect! It took me like 6 hours to do it! I painted the top and sides with black paint. I also purchased 6 silver knobs and I think the final result is great! And it looks really nice in our grey living room!

Total transformation cost:  $50 (approximatively)

Unfortunately, I didn't think to snap any pictures of it before the makeover!!! But you can figure that it was a really old piece of furniture, it used to be white, but it was more like a pale yellow color ha!

I just love that damask pattern! And this is an unique piece of furniture!

Random Friday

• Yay Yay Yay for being Friday!!! 

• This weekend, I will be working on another DIY project! I will turn an old desk into a dressing table and two little drawers into night stands! It will be a lot of work but it will worth it, I'm sure! With a lot of paint and a lot of patience!!!

• Is the Spring here yet? We had a little snow storm two days ago! Here, snow in April (and sometimes in May, can you imagine!) is pretty common, but I can't wait for a little bit of sun and warm weather!

• I didn't get any news yet from the jobs I applied for, I'm sad! :(

• I love watching movies on our big screen, it's so fun!!!

• B and I have been really busy this week, we didn't spend one evening together, I'm looking forward to have time with him this weekend!

• My parents got their new car yesterday! Yay for their new Mazda 5! And the best thing is that I can drive it, I got insurance! (But I don't think I will be driving it often, I will be driving their old car!)

• Can you believe that we are ALREADY mid-April?!???!?! I know, it's insane!!!

• I did a fantastic banana-peach-strawberry yugurt smoothie this morning and I think I will drink an other pretty soon, this is so good when it's homemade!

Little Blog Makeover and Fantastic Purchase!

I did a few changes to my blog, a new look for Spring! Nothing major, but I think that this pink color really illuminates the screen!

Speaking of screen, I completely forgot to tell you that the boyfriend made a big purchase last weekend: a brand new computer! And it is an iMac!!!

The boyfriend had been using an old computer with a big screen for the past 10 years! This purchase was really necessary! And the best part is that he had a 500$ Future Shop gift certificate that helped him to pay for the computer, how great!!! He also got a free printer with the iMac!!! (100$ value.) Great deal!

I'm really happy! And the cable guy is supposed to come on Tuesday to fix our internet and our phone! Can't wait! I'm not really a pro with Apple, but I'm sure I will learn! I still have an old Compaq computer (I had this computer for the last 6 years and everything is still working, but it is a little bit slow!), but I'm sure I will use the iMac much more!!!

This weekend, I'm starting a big DIY project! I'm turning an old IKEA white drawer into a TV stand! (this drawer used to be mine when I was a kid, so it's kind of old and it turned yellow over the years!) I will be using a cute wallpaper to cover it (it has a black and white damask pattern!) and it will fit into our new decor! I'm sure I will have fun doing that! Just hope it will turn nice!
