- Today marks the beginning of the "Construction Holiday" in Québec. What's that???
"In Québec, the last two full weeks in July [now it's the last week of July and the first of August!] are known as the “construction holiday”, when practically all construction workers are on compulsory leave.
Many other Quebecers choose the same two weeks for their summer vacation, travelling long distances by car. Traditionally, the “construction holiday” results in a mass exodus and heavy traffic at the beginning and end of the 14-day period. "
Because B doesn't have those 2 weeks off this year (his last job he did!), we are not going to travel a lot this summer, but next weekend, we are going for a short trip to Montréal to attend a 40th wedding anniversary party (B's uncle and aunt!). It will be fun!
- My boyfriend has the afternoon off and we are going for a car ride outside the city. We just love to do that, are we weird?!

- I know everyone probably lives where summers are hot and long, but I totally don't!!! Summers are pretty chilly where I live and last night, I was freezing! Can you believe that I had to get a big blanket in the middle of the night because I was too cold?!?
- I'm going for a 20 km bike ride! I love to bike!
- I don't have anything planned for the weekend! B is attending a bachelor's party tomorrow night and I will probably go out with my sister!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Do you have any special plans?

No special plans just yet, have to see how things work out! Enjoy your weekend - sounds like you're going to have lots of fun!

Oooo you guys will have fun at the wedding anniversary party! :) It's so weird that it's cold where you are! It is so very hot here in Florida! Have a good weekend and fun with your sister.
ReplyDeleteWow, I've never heard of that, but it makes sense to take a roadtrip when you know there won't be any road construction!
