Miscellany Monday

• My niece Laurence was born last Friday, March 30th 2012, at 3:45 pm. 51 cm, 7.5 pounds, lots of hair! She is so precious! Can't wait to see her this weekend when we go to Montréal! Can't believe my brother is now a daddy! Weird!

• This weekend, we ate a fabulous dessert! Homemade Crème brûlée! It was HEAVEN!

• My thesis has finally been approved by my University! It took longer than expected! I got the mention very good. I have a few corrections to do and I'm good!!!

• I'm going to Montréal this weekend for Easter and I can't wait to do some serious shopping! I need it!!!

Here's some random thoughts on that first day of July (already!!!):

• Today is Canada Day! Happy Canada Day to all canadian bloggers!!!

• Today is also what we called Moving day in most of Quebec cities! Apartments leases usually end on July 1st here. So a lot of people are moving today (This year is probably the first time I'm not moving on that day in like 5 years!) and the streets are packed with garbage, it is disgusting! Montréal looks like that right now (in fact, that picture was taken just 2 streets away from my sister's place!):

•  My work contract ended on June 29th and we had a great time celebrating afterwards! I had a great time in Montréal, I really enjoyed working here! I prefer Québec city, of course, but Montréal could be an option for us one day, we never know what can happen. (Our hometown is not my dream place to live in, but for now, there is nothing I can do about it. I try to like it.)

• I'm heading to Trois-Rivières (1h15 away from Montréal) to my grandparents house tomorrow. My mom is already there (she came to visit them for a week) and we will leave for our hometown probably on Tuesday. (I'm so happy that I have a ride home and that I don't have to take the bus!) Can't wait to be with B again!

• A sister's friend got engaged over the weekend and I'm being so jealous. I know, I know, my turn will probably come when it's time. But I'm still jealous.

• Stores are closed today due to Canada Day and I don't have anything good to eat! I am craving for cereals right now!

• Today is a beautiful day and I'm going for a walk for sure!!!

Back to Reality...

Easter weekend is over! We were on the road for 10.5 hours yesterday and I was so tired when I got home!!! But I was happy to see B of course! I really missed him!

My weekend was great! We visited my grandparents (the four of them!), my aunt, my two brothers and their girlfriends. It was great to see all of them! On Easter day, we did an Easter Egg Hunt at my brother's place, it was fun! 

And on Saturday, we went to IKEA where I got those items:

There was so much people shopping there! It was insane! We stayed at IKEA for about 1.5 hours, I wish we could have stay longer but we didn't have time. 

And I also did a little shopping at Dynamite and I bought this:

So, here I am on Tuesday morning and I have NO motivation to get my thesis done today! I think I will take the morning off, I have laundry and cleaning to do!

Today is my parents 29th anniversary! Happy anniversary to them!!! 29 years is a long time! They got married in April 1982 when my mom was 23 and my father 25! They met in university circa 1979 I think, my mom was evolved in an other relationship but my father won her heart! I'm so glad he did!!!

Christmas Recap... A Week Later!

My Christmas Eve and my Christmas Day were great!

On Christmas Eve, my mom and I baked almost all day long! We did some great desserts and yummy appetizers for the evening! The house smelled really good! I love to cook with my mom, she's the best!!!

During the afternoon, my family and I watched our favorite movie, Christmas Vacation, of course! I just love this movie, it's a classic!

At 6h00pm, my boyfriend arrived to my house for the evening. We were only 5 (my mom, my dad, me, my boyfriend and my younger brother.

We drank some wine and some champagne and had the appetizers we made. We laughed a lot and it was great. We opened gifts around 9h30pm. I got a lot of great things!

On Christmas Day, my boyfriend and I went in the forest outside the city for a ride in snowshoes! The landscapes were amazing! I love winter!!! We are supposed to do it again in some days!

 Here I am on that cold but beautiful day!
